Caring

Caring for Each Other

As a Christian community, we are called to be responsive to each other’s needs, cares, concerns, and joys. Christ Church desires to support you in all stages of life, to love as Jesus taught us to love.

Prayer and Assistance

Illness? Unexpected obstacle in life? Death of a loved one? We all need support and care sometimes. There are several ways to get in touch with clergy or our trained pastoral caregivers in times of need. If you’d like us to pray for you, submit a prayer concern or call the church office. If you find yourself hospitalized or with a sudden need, please call our office at 804-364-0394 and use the menu to reach someone.

Family Care Support Group

These days, families come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. The Family Care support group is for anyone who is caring for a family member: aging parent, adult children, young children, grandchildren, and more. Join us for a casual time of listening to and supporting one another. Led by a licensed practitioner, this group is open to all, just drop in as you're able. Contact us for more details.

Pastoral Caregivers

As people of faith, we extend our caregiving to our families, workplaces, and community. Staff provide care, as well as trained caregivers through Community of Hope, International. These compassionate listeners serve individuals facing illness, divorce, substance abuse, and death. In small and large ways, these caregivers make a difference. Caregivers are available to our community and provide support and care in a variety of ways. Contact Michael Compton for more information.

Knitting Ministry

Since 2004, Our Prayer Shawl Ministry has made countless prayer shawls, blankets, newborn hats, and even stoles for our graduating seniors. Each item is a beautiful work of art, lovingly made and blessed before it is passed along. If you would like a prayer shawl for yourself or someone else, please contact us. Join the group to knit, enjoy the fellowship of others, and be a part of a special community that offers tangible signs of God's Love. Contact Michael Compton for details.
