Christ Church Community,

This is the first issue of a short, weekly blurb to keep you up-to-date on our community's finances.

Your Vestry is committed to keep you as informed as possible, and as your Treasurer, I share their commitment. So, here we go!

At the end of September, our expenses are very close to budget, but our revenues are about $90k below budget. This is not a terribly unusual situation for this time of year. 

Churches all over the country grapple with the "post-Summer lull."

During July, August, and September, families enjoy their summer travels, then school starts again, and attendance drops. Giving decreases as well. It's seasonal!

As with your household budget, bills keep arriving. So operating funds can get tight. Is the church broke? Not at all. In fact, Christ Church Richmond is growing!

But treasurers always sleep better when there are sufficient resources on hand.

Here's how you can help: please consider catching up on your pledge if it has fallen off the radar this summer. If you are able, completing your pledge this month would be amazing!

If you've reached the age in life (like me) when you must take a distribution from your IRA, perhaps take it soon rather than at the end of the year. Same idea if you're considering a stock donation.
